This initiative was made possible thanks to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari. By bringing your team to the bush boardroom, you are directly contributing to this world-class conservation project. The largest mainland ecological island in the world, the team has reintroduced some of New Zealand’s most endangered species back to their natural habitat. Each booking includes a conservation contribution to the Sanctuary Mountain.

The details...
Where is the bush boardroom?
It's a secret location in the middle of the bush. Your team will be led to the spot. You just have to get them to Sanctuary Mountain - 99 Tari Road, Pukeatua (Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari). It's 20 minutes from Cambridge, 50 minutes south of Hamilton.
Capacity
The bush boardroom can seat up to 16 people. We provide cushions and encourage standing and short 'leg-stretcher breaks' regularly throughout the day.
How far do we have to walk?
This depends on which package you choose. For packages including our mindful hike, your team may walk up to 5km over the course of the day. It's around 1km on a gravel bush track to walk into the secret spot the bush boardroom is nestled. There are some short, steeper sections and ups and downs!
What about the weather?
We have a cosy rain canopy cover for our bush boardroom, that we put up when rain is forecast. It keeps everyone dry as well as adds some natural ambience to the setting! If it starts to rain during the session, there is shelter nearby until we can get the cover up! It can get cold in the bush and there is no heating, however we advise plenty of warm layering and provide blankets.
What seasons/months do you operate?
We run our packages with mindful hiking, foraging and more at Sanctuary Mountain year-round!
Accommodation
If you would like to book one of our two-day retreats for your team, we stay at Sanctuary Lodge Maungatautari which is a 1 minute drive from the mountain. The lodge can sleep up to 16, mostly twin share (ensuite) with a few double share rooms available.
Coverage?
There is limited cell phone reception at the bush boardroom - you will find some patchy coverage spots if you are a spark customer. Your host Kylie will never be far and usually bases herself at the bush shelter with a radio for emergencies.
Unplugged?
There is no power at the bush boardroom, however we do use our nearby bush shelter as a breakout room and there is limited power available there if someone's phone or laptop needs an emergency charge.
